For a long time I have not heard anything about such a plugin as Flash. Even on some old versions of browsers it slips through, but somehow very casually. Can someone clarify the situation?

There is no mystery here. It's just that almost all browsers stopped supporting Flash Player a long time ago. Especially today there are not a few alternatives to this plugin.
